Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank, recently described the 4.1% rate of economic

growth in Africa as “survival growth”; he stated that Africa needs to be growing at double-digit rates in order to create prosperity and lift millions of Africa out of poverty through job creation.
Fred Swaniker, Founder of the African Leadership University, asserts that Africa has approximately 6000 days to create sufficient jobs for the African workforce of over 1 billion people that will comprise the largest continental workforce in the world – by 2035.
Ramachandran et al (2009) concluded in a research study published by the Center for Global Development that in Africa the starting size and growth rate of indigenous (African-owned) firms is significantly smaller than the starting size and growth rate of non-indigenous (non-African owned) firms. The primary reasons offered for this difference are (i) the relative inability of the CEOs (of African-owned firms) to network and leverage their networks; and (ii) the capacity or competence (education/training) of the CEO.
BCA was created for CEOs of African-owned companies to inspire and equip them with the skills, networks, and resources they need to grow their companies rapidly and exponentially across the African Continent.
The need for creating services that cater to the growth needs of CEOs of African-owned companies has never been greater. If Africa is to experience double-digit growth then investment in the skills, networks and resources of CEOs of African-owned companies must occur and it must occur now.
At BCA, we inspire and equip leaders for the challenges of rapidly and exponentially expanding your company across the African continent. Learn from other CEOs who have done it or are in the process of doing it, exchange ideas with peer CEOs, and connect with CEOs in different countries who may be your future business partners, suppliers, customers, or advisors.
